About Dayara Bugyal Trek

Dayara Bugyal is considered as one of the most spectacular meadows in India. Also “BUGYAL” in local dialect is known as “High Altitude Pasture Land”. Among all the treks in Uttrakhand, Dayara Bugyal is considered to be the most beautiful and breathtaking, because of the highland meadows. Located in District Uttarkashi of Uttrakhand, it stands at an elevation of above 10,000 foot. This trek has a unique charm because of the unmatched beauty of the mighty Himalayas and it has become one of the most popular trekking routes for people who are willing to do trekking in Uttarakhand. Many of the travel enthusiasts have described as a fairy tale which takes trekkers to panoramic open lands through thick forests, ending to a huge lush green meadow.

This trek starts from the Village Barsu which is a very clean place with different style of huts built up all around. People there are all with smiling faces which shows how happy and content they are, living amidst nature. While trekking you will have different types of experiences, a stream flowing where you wish to halt and capture the frames, moving ahead will take you to bed of dried maple leaves often seen in movies and on moving further, you will find sunlight coming on your face after getting filtered from the grove oak trees. You won’t see animals there except a happy-go-lucky dog which will appear on the way to accompany you throughout the trek. Sunsets are very beautiful from the mountains, draws beautiful scenic views changing every passing minute.

Best Time to Visit Dayara Bugyal Trek

April to June (summers) and winters (October to December)

In Summer: The weather remains mild; it’s neither too cold nor too hot. During the summer season, the peaks remain visible. Carrying light woolens is advised.

In Monsoon: One of the best yet the terrible time to go for trekking, because there are chances of getting roads blocked due to landslides, but the scenic view is worth taking the risk.

In Winter: The area receives heavy snowfall throughout December and January, which winter season the best time to go for trekking.
