is situated at a height of 5029m. in the lap of Trishul massif, called the ‘Mystery lake’ since human skeletons and remains of horses were found here. The lake, surrounded by rock strewn glaciers and snow clad peaks, is magnificent and enchanting. The 500 metre climb to the sacred lake of Rup Kund takes around two to three hours. En route there are some steep rocky sections just before Rup Kund, which may require a bit of scrambling to reach the lake.Rup Kund has no outflow and is covered in snow for 10 months of the year.
